Eye Exercises for Eyes Suffering from Hyperopia (far-sightedness)

One of the topics that caught my attention in the program was the treatment of Hyperopia with Lasik eye surgery. It is also the reason I gave more attention to this fact within the program, than I did, maybe, to other common eye disorders (such as myopia or presbyopia). In this article I’ll explain why.

Hyperopia (aka far-sightedness, long-sightedness or hypermetropia), is a defect of vision caused by an imperfection in the eye. In most of the cases the eyeball is too short or the lens cannot become round enough. This generates problems when focusing on near objects. There are extreme cases when the person suffering from hyperopia can not manage to focus at any distance.

Eye exercises are very important for people that suffer from hyperopia, as the muscles of the eye must make additional effort to focus on an object that moves toward the eye. The extra effort allows the eye suffering from the disorder to bring the object in focus on the retina. If the power of the cornea and lens is insufficient, as in hyperopia, the image will appear blurred. It is why the exercises explained in the program are very useful for you if you’re experiencing far-sightedness because your eyes need to be stronger in order to see better. Your eyes put more effort into seeing than the eyes of someone suffering from myopia, for example.

People with hyperopia can experience blurred vision, asthenopia, accommodative dysfunction, binocular dysfunction, amblyopia, and strabismus. Hyperopia can be caused by sinus infections, injuries, migraines, aging or genetics. Hyperopia is sometimes correctable with various refractive surgery procedures (LASIK). But only sometimes. The truth is that hyperopia that is over +3 diopters is very difficult to treat by surgery.

In order to have a better eyesight people with far-sightedness need to concentrate more on giving the best care they can to their eyes. Most of the exercises (if not all) in the program are efficient for strengthening the eyes with hyperopia. Healthy diets for improving your eyesight naturally, containing vegetables and fruits, natural juices and teas also help. Focusing eye exercises as much as relaxation ones are important. They can help anyone with eye problems but I have explained above why more effort must be put into these exercises by people suffering from Hyperopia.

I will go into more detail on why hyperopia and LASIK don’t really mix in another article on the topic.  I invite you to check out the chapters which are on the topic in the program.

Surgical reduction of hyperopia is an evasive procedure, but should be given a chance, especially because hyperopia affects both distance vision and near vision and is compounded by presbyopia later in life. A wide spectrum of refractive surgeries have been applied over the years in the relentless pursuit of hyperopia correction. However, those 20-minute miracles who have instant perfect vision after refractive surgery do not refer to people with high hyperopia and who also suffer from astigmatism. Hyperopia is significantly more difficult to predictably and reliably correct than myopia and more likely to regress after surgery.
