Blurred vision, also referred to as blurry vision is actually a consequence to a series of eye problems rather than a problem itself.
It is an ocular symptom. Your eyes don’t just get blurred if there is nothing wrong with you. However, it could be an eye disorder but it may also indicate that there is a problem with some other part of your body (heart problems for example).
The problem can either be easily cured because it’s caused by lack of sleep, too much TV or staring too long at your PC screen without proper rest periods) or not so easily fixed (eye disorders such as cataract, myopia etc).
So, what are the causes of blurry vision?
Here’s a short list of possibilities:
- Presbyopia, Cataracts, Astigmatism, Glaucoma, Far-sightedness, Near-sightedness etc.
- Wrong prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses
- Cataracts
- Conjunctivitis (inflammation of the eye surface)
- Corneal ulcer
- Complications of diabetes
- Anemia
- Concussion
- Pregnancy
- Eye infection, inflammation, or injury.
- Bleeding into the eye
- Migraine headaches
- Dry eyes
- Eye irritation, inflammation or infection
- Stroke
- Brain tumor
- Amphetamines and other illicit drugs
Blurred vision can be a symptom for many serious or not so serious eye problems. Blurry vision can happen because of minor disorders (headaches), or more complex ones such as farsightedness or nearsightedness. Within the program you will be able to read a detailed explanation on how to use simple eye relaxation techniques in order to cure blurry vision. As years pass and the eye ages, blurred vision becomes a common problem for many people however, the blurryness can be helped significantly with proper eye exercise. Because the eyes are muscles, like any other muscle in the body they can be strengthened with the correct conditioning, but as with any other muscle they also require the proper rest. In order to exercise the eyes properly a specially constructed program must be followed. With any strength conditioning program for the body, you must consult with a doctor first. This will ensure your blurred vision is not the result of abnormal reasons such as infection, inflammation, trauma, malignancy, and other abnormal processes which require medical advice or treatment.
The speed with which blurred vision disappears or appears depends on its cause. Since it is, in almost all of the cases a symptom, you must be aware of the facts that cause blurry vision and treat them. Any change in vision should always be evaluated by a specialist. Do not hesitate to seek immediate medical care (call 911) if you experience blurred or distorted vision along with severe headache, stiff neck or nausea suddenly.
However, the most common reason for blurred vision is the fact that the eye is tired. Within the program you’ll understand that nowadays we have lots more factors that strain our eyes than our grandparents used to have. Even the simple act of reading can be more stressing for the eye than it used to be and the reason for this is our reliance on artificial light. More and more people read using mobile gadgets such as their smart phones, cell phones and mobile phones, PDAs, laptops and even ebook readers. The backlight used in these gadgets can strain the eye. It is why sometimes the words on the screen appear blurred. Also, due to lack of time, many of us read at night or use computers or laptops in poorly lit rooms which can cause the eyes to strain.
Be careful when you choose to read. You can avoid having eye problems by reading from e-ink devices with no backlight or simply by reading during the day or in a well lit place. You may not have known but reading is actually one of the best exercises for improving your sight, if it is done properly.
